We’ve got shows, shopping, sport and stand-up this week
Shop: Get your shop at the Gastown Spring Shop Hop on April 18. From 5pm – 9pm the streets will be lined with balloons, shop doors will be open into the evening. New shops participating include: Army & Navy, Fortknight, Board of Trade Co., Athena Atelier, Artemisia, Meadow Gifts, Menu Skateboards, Stussy, and Angel
Stage: The Arts Club Theatre Company’s Do You Want What I Have Got? A Craigslist Cantana returns to the Revue Stage starting April 18th until May 18th. Get tickets fast, all 24 shows sold out last run.
Stand-up: Drew Carey puts aside The Price Is Right microphone and picks up a stand-up mic as he takes to the River Rock Theatre stage for a rare night of stand-up comedy on Friday April 19th.
Show: Hip Hop takes over the Commodore Ballroom as K-OS with special guest Rich Aucoin hit the stage on Saturday April 20th.
Sport: As the season end draws near each game matters even more, watch the Vancouver Canucks take on Detroit Red Wings, April 20th at Rogers Arena
Stay: The Vancouver Art Gallery presents Grand Hotel: Redesigning Modern Life charts the evolution of the hotel from simple structures to grand destinations. This major exhibition stays in place until September 15, 2013.
Study: Join VanDusen Gardens’ instructors for the adult education & walks series throughout the summer. This Saturday April 20, attend “Botanical Names Explained” to explore the scientific names of plants.
Sun Run: One of the world’s largest 10k fun runs, The Vancouver Sun Run, kicks off on Sunday April 21 at 9am on the streets of downtown Vancouver. There’s still time to register or plan your spot to cheer on the runners.
