Exhibition: Today, from 5pm to 8pm, visit the Vancouver Civic Theatres Visual Arts Open House at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre Lobbies featuring Transformations Art Collective with work by Olga Campbell, Dorothy Doherty, and Jane McDougall. The free, ticketed, event also includes an artist’s talk at 6:30pm with live music by Louise and Greg Weir throughout the evening

Opera: Summer Serenades, Vancouver City Opera’s Free Outdoor Concert Series continues through August bringing music to Dr Sun Yat-Sen Courtyard at Noon Fridays, Milton Wong Plaza at Noon Saturdays, Roundhouse Turntable Plaza at Noon Sundays.
Films: Celebrating its 35th anniversary, the Vancouver Queer Film Festival, returns to screens from August 10-20, with 92 films from 27 countries, with 24 features, 68 shorts, 10 World Premieres, 10 North American/International Premieres and 31 Canadian Premieres among the selections.
Blues: The newly FREE (but ticketed) Burnaby Blues & Roots Festival is back August 12th with a line up including; Bebe Buckskin, The Trade Offs, Boy Golden, The Dip, Allison Russell and headliners Fleet Foxes
Bard: Bard on the Beach continues to bring in crowds for its two brilliant mainstage productions; As You Like It is in repertoire with Julius Caesar throughout the summer. Meanwhile, the reign of Henry V on the Howard Family Stage comes to an end August 13.
Rock: The Arts Club Granville Island Stage welcomes Million Dollar Quartet giving audiences a peak into the famed jam session that brought together rock and roll legends Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins, extended until August 20th!
Stars: Theatre Under the Stars takes audiences to school for its 2023 season that is both hilarious and heartwarming, featuring The Prom and Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical, at Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park, until August 26th
Dance: This Friday August 11th, Vancouver Civic Theatres‘ Dance Dance Dance program continues with a FREE Salsa On 1 dance classoutdoors at šx???ex?n Xwtl’a7shn (formerly the QET Plaza) at 630 Hamilton Street
