June is coming to a close already, with Canada Day Celebrations ahead in these picks of the week.
Together: July 1st Canada Place celebrates its 39th annual Canada Day celebrations with Canada Together, planned in collaboration with the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations the celebration will feature live music on multiple stages, a Kids’ Zone, a Port Community Zone, a new Indigenous Marketplace, as well as performers, exhibitors, and food trucks throughout the blocks around Canada Place and Vancouver Convention Centre.
Salmon: The 78th annual Steveston Salmon Festival, one of the country’s largest Canada Day celebrations, brings Canada Day celebrations throughout Steveston Village all day July 1st.

Mixdown: Saturday, June 28, rice and beans theatre society invites you to The Multicultural Mixdown, a night of mixed performances with the aim of creating a fun, energetic vibe featuring performers, and visual artists from a multitude of backgrounds in the Progress Lab studio in East Vancouver.
Improv: This Friday & Saturday are the final episodes of The Improv Centre’s The Bachelor-ish – will one lucky improvisor finally find love in this hilarious, audience-led send up of The Bachelor. Then on July 1st join in the laughs of the special Canada ‘Eh Show
Beach: A sure sign of Summer, Bard on the Beach 2025 gets underway with Much Ado About Nothing running until September 20 alongside Two Gentlemen of Verona running until September 19 on the BMO Mainstage. On July 1st, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised] [again] joins the festival from the Douglas Campbell Stage
Serving: The Arts Club Summer season has the perfect recipe for entertainment with the acclaimed musical Waitress at Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage until August 3.
Mystery: In previews from tomorrow, Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap brings the iconic manor house mystery to the Arts Club Granville Island Stage until August 10.
Rock: With guests Kurt Vile + The Violators, Boston alt-rockers The Pixies play two consecutive nights at The Orpheum Theatre; June 26 playing its Bossanova and Trompe Le Monde albums in full and on June 27, they’ll play a night of classics featuring songs from their new album, The Night the Zombies Came.

Board: On Saturdays June 28, Fairmont Waterfront introduces Board & Brunch, part of its summer of wellness – start the day with a scenic paddleboarding experience through Vancouver’s English Bay guided by CPO (Chief Paddle Officer) Tobias Clare, followed by ARC’s indulgent bottomless brunch back at the hotel – open to hotel guests and members of the public of all abilities.

Value: The Museum of Anthropology (MOA) at UBC presents an exhibition of acclaimed contemporary artist Rebecca Belmore. VALUE: Rebecca Belmore at the Museum of Anthropology, on display until October 19, 2025, is an exhibition offering an examination of four important large-scale works from the Anishinaabe artist’s four-decade career, challenging the ongoing condition of colonialism.
