The 2nd Annual Celebrate BC – BC Day Festival returns this summer with a focus on affordability, accessibility, and bringing communities together. After a successful inaugural event, the 2026 festival expands to a two-day celebration across the Tri-Cities, offering families a chance to come together and mark BC Day with pride, culture, and connection – without breaking the bank.
Taking place August 1 in Port Moody (Rocky Point Park) and August 3 in Coquitlam (Town Centre Park), the festival welcomes residents and visitors from across the region for a vibrant, family-friendly experience that reflects the diversity and spirit of British Columbia.
Organized by S.U.C.C.E.S.S., in partnership with the Cities of Port Moody and Coquitlam – and developed with the support of the Kwikwetlem and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, Celebrate BC is designed to showcase the shared identity, cultures, and experiences that define the province.
“Celebrate BC is a wonderful opportunity for people to come together and recognize what makes our province so special,” said Premier David Eby. “Events like this reflect the strength of our communities, the richness of our cultures, and the pride we share as British Columbians. I want to extend my best wishes to everyone involved in organizing this year’s festival and to all those who will take part.”
Building on last year’s momentum, the 2026 festival offers an expanded and dynamic program across both communities, including the return of the Beautiful BC Photo Contest by Sony, where anyone is welcomed to submit their best photos of BC’s luscious landscapes, colourful communities or moments of magic that make the province shine.
August 1: The festival gets underway at Rocky Point Park in Port Moody, attendees can expect a welcoming, community-focused experience including a blueberry pancake breakfast, an opportunity to participate in canoe paddle adventures that highlight the region’s waterways and cultural heritage. The day will also feature an Indigenous Market, traditional Bannock, Food Truck Alley with a host of delicious options, live stage performances featuring local artists, Kids’ Zone and interactive community demonstrations.
August 3: The celebration moves to Town Centre Park in Coquitlam, festival festivities get fired up with a huge community wild BC salmon barbecue prepared by renowned BC chefs Ned Bell, Robert Clark, and Alex Tung. Cheer on the crowd-favourite “Fast and Furriest” Corgi and Wiener Dog races, diverse local food vendors, live music, cultural performances, and interactive art installations for all ages.
In recognition of the current economic climate, Celebrate BC is intentionally accessible for guests with every food vendor offering at least one $10 menu item, making it possible for families to enjoy a full day of programming and a meal for under $50.
