Farce: It’s your last chance to catch Metro Theatre laugh riot presentation of Ken Ludwig’s Lend Me a Tenor a hilarious, fast-paced farce of life, love and lies, closing October 25.
Frights: Enjoy the thrills and chills of Western Canada’s most anticipated Halloween event with the haunted houses, entertainment and amusement rides of Fright Nights x Fizz at Playland runs select nights until October 31.
Canyon: It’s spooky season as Canyon Frights returns to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park until November 2. Find a frightful forest, where graveyards, pumpkins and glowing mycelium set the stage for a chilling adventure.

Vampire: Celebrate Halloween with a riotous new take on Bram Stoker’s classic horror guaranteed to induce screams of laughter – Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors – mixes the vampire tale with a dose of Mel Brooks, RuPaul and Hitchcock at Jericho Arts Centre October 23 to November 1
Club: Carousel Theatre For Young People, Studio A presents Club Carousel, A Halloween Baby Rave – a family friendly environment where all ages can connect to their own rhythm and movement while dancing to music by DJ Softieshan, featuring free snacks and a live DJ, admission by donation on Sunday October 26
Detective: The Gateway Theatre season has opened with Kate Hamill’s Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson – Apt 2B a fun, feminist twist on your favourite detective duo, filled with goofy antics, baffling characters and laughs running until October 25.
Writers: The 38th annual Vancouver Writer’s Fest returns to Granville Island until October 26, once again, delivering a week of stellar authors, exceptional books, ideas, and dialogue exploring the issues and themes dominating the current cultural and political sphere.
Vacant: October 22-25 Firehall Arts Centre presents Hiromoto Ida’s Vacant Lot, based on the Japanese play “Sarachi”, by contemporary Japanese theatre artist Shogo Ota, a long-married couple visit the vacant lot where their house once stood.
Quartet: Saturday, the Anvil Theatre presents Unforgettable with Terrell Edwards Quartet, the velvet voiced singer, described as the “perfect blend of Sinatra and Motown” pays tribute to classic American jazz and soul standards featuring the iconic sounds of Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles, and more.

Fire: Until October 26, The Cultch and Vancouver Latin American Cultural Centre present Carmen Aguirre’s Fire Never Dies: The Tina Modotti Project—a world premiere from Electric Company Theatre at the Historic Theatre.

Damned: The Beaumont Studios annual Halloween spectacular sees frightening favourite cult classics twisted and reborn in the Theatre of the Damned running until October 30.
Pucks: Vancouver Canucks take to the ice at Rogers Arena for a pair of games; Friday vs Montreal Canadiens and Saturday vs Edmonton Oilers

Dance: October 24 and 25 at Vancouver Playhouse, DanceHouse opens its 2025-2026 season with a presentation of Daniel Léveillé’s masterwork, Amour, acide et noix (Love, Acid and Nuts).

Phantom: Monday, October 27, Vancouver Civic Theatres and Vancouver Bach Family of Choirs present a 100th Anniversary celebration of the iconic 1925 silent film Phantom of the Opera with a Special Edition Silent Movie Mondays at Orpheum Theatre featuring Canadian composer Andrew Downing’s score played live by a 6-piece orchestra, 80-person choir, and Vancouver Civic Organist Michael Dirk on the Orpheum’s original Wurlitzer organ.
Longhouse: Richmond Art Gallery presents a new solo exhibition by Manuel Axel Strain, until November 9, celebrating the cedar longhouse as an important architectural form and philosophical framework that reflects the collectivist and relational values of their ancestors and communities.
