The Vancouver International Dance Festival (VIDF) is returning for its 21st season from March 4 to June 19, 2021. As the pandemic restrictions continue, this year will be a virtual festival with 18 livestreamed contemporary dance performances.
This year, VIDF is providing residencies and technical support for artists to enhance their choreography with multiple cameras switched live. This will mean VIDF 2021 can offer unique cinematic perspectives of each choreography for the artists to see their work come to the screen and for the audiences to enjoy the fruits of their labours. Broadcast from the KW Production Studio, the VIDF is providing the technical resources for each artist to re-imagine their work for the camera. The 2021 VIDF presents Vancouver companies: Ne. Sans Opera & Dance, Company 605, Vidya Kotamraju, CAMP and Lamondance; and Toronto’s Yvonne Ng / tiger princess dance projects.
