August and summer slowly ticks away but not before some entertaining picks of the week

Eat: Tonight the roaming food experience,  Vancouver Foodster’s Tasting Plates heads to Commercial Drive.

Cascadia: At BC Place, Whitecaps FC hosts Seattle Sounders in Cascadia Cup play on Wednesday.

Spectacle: The tall ship Amara Zee provides the backdrop & stage for a free, unique, acrobatic aerial musical Climatopian Spectacle – Nomadic Tempest along the shores of False Creek until Sept 3rd

Soirée: Thursday the dueling al fresco dining events, Ce Soir Noir at Crab Park and Dîner en Blanc at a to be announced location bring communities together around the city.

Rock: Mononymous Singer/Songwriter Beck brings his alt-rock to the stage at The Orpheum in Vancouver on Thursday night

Shakespeare:  Bard on the Beach is under the tents at Vanier Park, Much Ado About Nothing and The Winter’s Tale are on the BMO Mainstage with The Merchant of Venice and Two Gentlemen of Verona in previews on the Howard Family Stage

Nooners: Don’t forget to enjoy the free afternoon concerts at the CBC Musical Nooners at the CBC Plaza on Hamilton St

Closing: There’s a just a few more evenings to enjoy the laughter and memories of evenings Stanley Park at Theatre Under The Stars presenting Mary Poppins and The Drowsey Chaperone on alternating evenings

PNEPNE:  The Fair at the PNE is open for another season of agriculture and entertainment including the line up of great Summer Nights Concerts this week including ZZ Top, Chicago and Colin James.

Movies: Don’t forget to head outdoors and catch cinema under the stars with Outdoor Cinema BC shows popping up all over Metro Vancouver
