Brighten up the season’s dark nights with the city’s brightest and most festive displays of Holiday lights open to the public, here’s a list of light displays to enjoy the twinkle of the Holiday Season: (note many are closed Christmas Day)
Lights of Hope
At St Paul’s Hospital, 1081 Burrard Street, in the West End throughout the Holiday season.
The annual campaign has raised more than $50 million since it began and continues to bring in much needed funds for the hospital. Stroll past, enjoy the lights, donate to Lights of Hope, Sponsor a Star, or purchase a Hope at Home Star. Where there is light, there is hope. Free Admission
Canyon Lights
At Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, 3735 Capilano Road, North Vancouver until January 21, 2024
11am-9pm (closed Christmas Day).
The world-famous bridge is lit end-to-end with a changing multi-colour display high above the illuminated Capilano River.
Hundreds of thousands of lights turn the coastal rainforest into a glittering fantasy forest, that you can walk high above on the transformed Treetops Adventure, and across the twinkling Cliffwalk.
Dated adult park admission is $66.95, $61.95 Seniors, $26.95 Child or $36.95 Youth includes the holiday activities, crafts and entertainment.
Lights by the Lake
At Harrison Hot Springs, lakefront promenade Esplanade Ave, Harrison Hot Springs until January 7, 2024 dusk to 11pm
Enchanting holiday displays transform the Harrison lakefront into a magical world of lights highlighting the local wildlife and the elusive Sasquatch – wondrous weeping Christmas trees and old-fashioned lamp standards grace the village square Plaza, with custom built light displays. Free Admission
Van Dusen Festival of Lights
At VanDusen Botanical Garden until January 7, 2024 gates open 4pm-10pm (closed Christmas Day). Sensory-friendly Night welcoming neurodivergent guests and families on November 28
Explore the 15 acre magical winter wonderland adorned with more than one million lights. Stroll along the lakeside and get in the holiday spirit with the return of Dancing Lights, wander through the romantic Rose Garden, and be sure to stop by the Scottish Shelter to light a candle and donate to Make-A-Wish. – Adult Admission $26.88, Senior $18.48, Children $12.32
Heritage Christmas presented by Concord Pacific
At Burnaby Village Museum – Opening November 25 until January 5, 2024 Opens 1pm, until 5:30 or 9pm (depending on day of week) Closed December 24-25
Wander the museum’s 10 acre venue taking in all the seasonal entertainment, demonstrations and activities, and traditional lights and decorations. Grab a bite at the new Mai’s Café, take a ride the classic Carousel. – Free Admission to Village + add-on Carousel Rides $2.52
Edmonds Festival of Lights
At Edmonds Community Centre, 7433 Edmonds Street Opening November 25, 2023 2:30 – 5:30pm
Celebrate the season inside and outside the Centre and Plaza at this free family friendly event with festive entertainment, stilt walkers, holiday crafts, visits with Santa and hot chocolate, popcorn, and hot dogs served by the Burnaby firefighters before the 5:15pm Tree Lighting Ceremony. Christmas Glow Langley

Martini Town Merry & Bright

Lights at Lafarge

Metro Vancouver’s largest free Christmas light display, Coquitlam’s Lights at Lafarge kicks off Friday, November 24th from 5 – 8 p.m. at Town Centre Park, stroll the 1.2km trail illuminated with hundreds of thousands of lights, enjoy food vendors, arts activities, live entertainment and performances. Easily accessible by transit at Lafarge Lake – Douglas Skytrain Station – Free Admission
Granville Island Festive Lights
At Granville Island, Vancouver until January 3, 2024
Stroll Granville Island’s almost 40 acres, under the stars, for an evening among the lights, restaurants, bars and taprooms. Featured illuminations include a colour-changing oversized star in the centre of the Public Market courtyard, the Edison bulbs along Railspur Artisan District, giant musical notes among the trees that surround the theatres, a perfect star looking over Alder Bay in Ron Basford Park, a canopy of lights hidden in a secret location, glowing benches, and more! Bright Nights in Stanley Park
At Stanley Park Miniature Train, Pipeline Road, Vancouver Opens – November 30, 2023 until January 6, 2024 (held over from original January 1st closing) 4pm to 10pm
Bright Night Train tickets have already sold out but there’s still the opportunity to experience millions of lights twinkling throughout the plaza. Food vendors will offer a selection of comfort food to enjoy as you stroll around the plaza taking a selfie with a firefighter, visit Santa’s workshop and enjoy the live entertainment. Admission to Bright Nights Plaza is by donation benefiting the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund.
Christmas at Canada Place

Port Metro Vancouver’s annual Christmas celebration invites visitors to share the nostalgia of the classic Woodward’s Windows, Canada’s North light display including “Chrismoose,” our 15-foot tall moose light sculpture, the iconic Sails of Light, and the festive Avenue of Trees at this free, family-friendly event. Liven UP – Coal Harbour
At Vancouver Coal Harbour Waterfront, Canada Place to Cardero Park – December 1 – 30 2023
Friday & Saturday activations 5-10pm
This new Holiday celebration, carries the magic of the season from Canada Place along the Coal Harbour Seawall to Cardero Park (Cardero Street at Bayshore Drive). The family-friendly celebration finds lighting installations, artists, musicians, and storytellers animate this spectacular walk.
Lighting installations, including Vancouver favourites Luna the Whale and Davie the Grizzly Bear, will be placed at key points along the route, and performance areas featuring musicians, artists, fire performers (pictured), and storytellers will be active every Friday and Saturday evening from 5-10pm, including a large, tented stage at Harbour Green Park. 17th Annual Vancouver Christmas Tree Lighting presented by Amacon

Thousands will join host Fred Lee to view the lighting of the 76ft Christmas Tree, Western Canada’s tallest, and the kick off to the Holiday Season with entertainment and free admission and hot chocolate…and, of course, Santa! Free Admission
