From February 21 to 25, Performance Works on Granville Island is home of MOTHER CLOUD Spatial Sound Festival, the only music festival powered by 4DSOUND special sound technology in North America.
Part of the Festival’s events on Friday, February 23, include a mesmerizing sensory experience with Ruby Singh, PIQSIQ’s Inuksuk Mackay and Tiffany Moses, Dawn Pemberton, Russell Wallace, Khari Wendell McClelland, Tiffany Moses and Chimerik ??? unite to present Vox.Infold II an immersive a cappella audio-visual journey that transcends conventional performance boundaries. Opening the evening’s performance is cellist, Marina Hasselberg.
This special first-ever live performance of Ruby Singh’s critically acclaimed, a capella ensemble, Vox.infold, includes immersive visuals from Chimerik ???. A multi-award-winning interdisciplinary nonprofit organization consisting of artists from underrepresented groups (POC, immigrant, queer and women from tech/media arts), working in film/video, new media, VJ, VR, projection and lighting design, experimental sound, visual arts and contemporary dance/theatre performance. Together, Vox.Infold II offers a sensuous and deep, full reverberating sound and visual experience, weaving the past, present, and future into a monumental audio-visual odyssey.
Vox.Infold II aims to carry audiences through a spectrum of emotions – loneliness, joy, the mysterious, and the supernatural. The performance unravels the intricacies of human expression, seamlessly blending polyrhythm, lush harmonies, and polyphonic poet.
