A defining part of the downtown Vancouver landscape since 1888, Stanley Park is celebrating its 125th Anniversary with a weekend of fun arts, entertainment and sport. Taking place throughout the park August 24 and 25, the mostly free activities take place from noon until 8pm based around 5 zones around the 1000 acre park.
There’s something for everyone to see and experience over the weekend; discover the depth of Stanley Park’s history or ecology on a walking tour, visit the mounted police horse stables, meet the park gardens, take in historical car displays, play sports at Brockton Oval, tour the naval base HMCS Discovery, let Bobs & Lolo entertain the whole family and try some of Vancouver’s renowned food trucks.
The 5 zones are:
Live at Second Beach – a live stage, food concession, food trucks, beer garden from Stanley Park Brewery
Family Fun At Fisherman’s Arch – family stage with children’s performers, Coast Salish artisans, ecological walks, the Vancouver Aquarium Aqua Van and food trucks
Memory Lane At The Garden – historical displays in the Rose Garden, Shakespearean performances, and ticketed shows from Theatre Under The Stars and Boca del Lupo
Brockton Sportsapalooza – Rugby, cricket, Coast Salish games demonstrations, beer garden, food trucks and HMCS Discovery Open House.
Lost Lagoon’s Ecoharmony – nature displays, walks, talks and games at the Nature House plus music performances on the Lost Lagoon Stage.
