It’s time to light up the night! The 2023 Honda Celebration of Light returns to the skies over English Bay.
Now into its third decade of wowing audiences over three spectacular days and evenings, this year’s festival takes place July 22, 26 and 29. The Honda Celebration of Light is the world’s longest running offshore fireworks festival. One of BCs largest public events, expect more than 1 million spectators over the three night to take in the festival entertainment, food trucks and air show leading up to the ignition of the fireworks illuminating the shores.
This year’s Celebration of Light will welcome three spectacular pyrotechnic teams:
Saturday, JULY 22 – AUSTRALIA – Howard & Son Pyrotechnics – With a century of experience participating in some of Australia’s landmark moments, Howard & Son certainly know how to put on a spectacle.
Wednesday, JULY 26 – MEXICO – Grupo AVACON – Mexico always delivers a dynamic presentation this year combining the expertise and experience of Cabo Fireworks Co. and Atomic Professional Fireworks.
Saturday, JULY 29 – The PHILIPPINES – Blue Peacock Fireworks – With the countries first entry in the Celebration of Light Blue Peacock, will bring its experience to highlight the sounds and colours of the Philippines over the skies.
Music for each nights performances will be simulcast on CFMI Rock 101
From 2pm each day of Celebration of Light, the Festival Stage @ Morton Park welcomes everyone with a free family-friendly activities, music performances and entertainment leading up to the fireworks displays. Food trucks galore will be lining Beach Avenue so spectators don’t need to go far to get a bite.
On July 26 and July 29, the Morton Park Music Stage will feature a selection of performers from the competing countries including:
July 26 – MEXICO: Israel Kadash, Chela Tumbao, El Canto de México: Antonio Nava y Gabriel Palacios, Nahualli Folklore Society, Alejandra Alcántara-Christian Díaz, Mexican Dance Ensemble, Grupo RM
July 29 – The Philippines: Gelo Granados Band, Jeremiah Mari Gan Carag, Raquel Konrad Band, Estella Banez, Ed & Salve DAYAO
Each evening Red Bull stunt pilot Pete McLeod will thrill audiences with his sensational acrobatic stunt flying.
