The 46th Annual Country Music Association awards were handed out Thursday night in Nashville. Co-hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, their 5th time together, from the Bridgestone Arena awards were handed out in thirteen categories. Husband and wife duo of Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert came out the night’s big winners, taking home gongs for Male and Female Vocalists, Song of the Year for their duet – “Over You” and Entertainer of the Year for Shelton.
The ceremony kicked off with a performance by Jason Aldean, Eric Church and Luke Bryan and included additional performances from Eric Church, The Band Perry, Taylor Swift. Host Paisley recognized Hurricane Sandy victims in New Jersey and New York when he sang “Southern Comfort Zone.”
Legendary Willie Nelson was celebrated with a Lifetime Achievement Awards and a tribute from Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, McGraw, Faith Hill and Lady Antebellum.
