The 2019 Polaris Gala, presented by CBC Music, takes place tonight, September 16th, at The Carlu in Toronto. One of 10 nominated Canadian albums will be declared the 2019 Polaris Music Prize winner.
Hosted by CBC Music’s Raina Douris, the performers at the gala include Marie Davidson, Elisapie, FET.NAT, Dominique Fils-Aimé, Les Louanges, Haviah Mighty, PUP, Shad and Snotty Nose Rez Kids.
For those of us who can’t get to The Carlu, the Polaris livestream will join the gala in progress. This allows CBC Music to present all of the performances while eliminating the artist changeovers. While performances will be edited, the winner announcement will be shown live as it happens. Watch the Polaris Livestream on CBCMusic.ca/polaris at 5:45 p.m. PT this afternoon, to catch all the performances.
The 10 albums nominated for the 2019 Polaris Music Prize include:
- Marie Davidson – Working Class Woman
- Elisapie – The Ballad of the Runaway Girl
- FET.NAT – Le Mal
