
After just over a month closed to the public, Victoria’s famed Butchart Gardens is preparing to reopen today May 1st at 9am. The Garden is welcoming the public to take in the blooms and tranquility of the beautiful 55 acre garden as a break from COVID-19 home confinement. Get out to enjoy a stroll amongst the colours of blossoming rhododendron, daffodils, tulips, camellias and of course, what would spring be without, cherry blossoms.
The Butchart Gardens asks guests to follow new rules and procedures to guarantee all visitors, plus Garden staff and their families can stay safe and healthy. Visitors are also welcome to wear their own masks or face coverings.
- Please follow the instructions of The Butchart Garden staff
- Please be patient, maintain physical distancing, and do not allow you or your group to get within 2m/6ft of another group
- Children and pets must remain directly at your side
- Keep to the right on all pathways. Follow the directional arrows and abide by any Do Not Enter signs
Failure to comply with the above rules may result in removal from the site.
While the gardens and most paths are open, many of the facilities are closed;
One washroom near the parking lot will be available for use, but most other washrooms are closed.
Restaurants are closed, Gelateria and Coffee Shop are open for take-away only. The Gardens asks guest to refrain from bringing outside food to the gardens, picnics are not permitted.
All seating has been removed and drinking fountains closed.
Information Centre is open for 12 Month Pass sales only.
Rose Carousel is closed. Due to COVID-19 umbrellas are not being supplied.
Seed & Gift Shop is closed for in-person shopping but remains available online or by phone 250-652-4422
