Vancouver Pride is hosting Canada Pride 2024 with a line up of events taking place around the city until August 4th.
Parties, performances, dances, festivals and the centrepiece Pride Parade are joined by a Queer Rights Summit taking place August 1-3. Find some of the week’s activities around town at the following hot spots;
Bubly Davie Street Lounge: 1207 Bute Street @ Davie
The Davie Street hub this week welcomes performances curated by Latincouver, the West End Seniors Network, Babes on Babes, featuring local artists Juicy Gems, House of Lola and VNDS ‘24 winner, Androgynass and many more.
Granville Island Lounge: Ocean Art Works Pavilion, 1531 Johnston Street
Granville Island brings a variety of events the Lounge including Stand-Up Comedy, A Queer Wine Social, Indigenous Artists’ ‘Hotlatch Pride’, life drawing classes, music, poetry and story telling, Gateo Pride with the sexy sounds of Latin America and The Caribbean, Gaymer Pride and more. Wrapping up the Granville Island Lounge hosts the Canada Pride Closing Party on August 4th
VanPride Fest: Concord Pacific Place, 88 Pacific Boulevard
August 3rd & 4th, the Free two-day celebration welcomes visitors to the expansive Concord Pacific Place along the shores of False Creek
Day One features a drag extravaganza with local favorites, global drag stars, and a takeover by Quill Collective dance company, the TD Main Stage welcomes Canada’s Drag Race royalty, Season 4 winner Vancouver’s Own Venus, along with other Drag Race winners and alumni like Gisèle Lullaby, Icesis Couture, Aurora Matrix, Makayla Couture, and Kendall Gender.
Day Two features a musical feast for fans to dance the night away. Headliner Rêve will be joined on the Main Stage by LU KALA, Witch Prophet, NADUH, and BoiBnd, plus performances by local artists Toddy and Lola Lovegood.
VanPride X Canada Pride Parade: Beach Avenue & Pacific Boulevard
August 4th Noon-4pm hundreds of thousands will watch the Parade’s 100+ entries wind their way along the 3.1km route from the gathering point at Denman and Davie Street on to the start at Beach Avenue, leading to Pacific Boulevard all the way to BC Place adjacent to the Concord Pacific Place VanPride Fest site.
