While BIG BANG Festival welcomes children from 5 years of age, this is no ordinary kids’ event. Founded in Belgium by Zonzo Compagnie 2010 and growing to nineteen cities around the globe, BIG BANG comes to Vancouver for its second time on Sunday, February 15. Co-presented by Music on Main and the Roundhouse which is one of only three locations in Canada – the others being Ottawa and Quebec— the festival is an immersive and playful sonic experience, appealing to hungry young minds with an eclectic mix of free and ticketed activities.
Hundreds of visitors came to the Roundhouse for the first BIG BANG Festival in 2025 and were treated to a wide program of low and no-cost delights. 2026 will be just as exciting with the Festival opening with Tsatsu Stalkqayu (Coastal Wolf Pack), welcomes back The Carnival Band, Music Rooms from traditional Indonesian metallophone-based orchestra Gamelan Tembang Telang, and Vancouver Opera Orchestra percussionist Julia Chien, in addition to other hands-on music and drawing experiences. Along with Festival Jam, The Bounce House, face painting, kids and their grownups can shake their groove-thang at the Silent Disco,

Music on Main and the Roundhouse have again collaborated with local artists to curate a festival that reflects Vancouver’s unique cultural position while honouring the sophistication and imagination of its young attendees, transforming the Roundhouse into an interactive sandbox of rhythm, melody, and open-hearted experimentation. More details to be announced soon, now is the time to plan a BIG BANG on Family Day.
Not just a feast for your eyes and ears, look out to the Roundhouse Turntable Plaza for food trucks to satisfy your sense of taste and refuel before taking in more of the musical adventures inside.
BIG BANG Festival 2026 takes place Sunday February 15 from noon to 5pm at Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre, 181 Roundhouse Mews, Vancouver.
With free and ticketed ($5) concerts, workshops, and more, the festival offers a plenty of ways for the youth and their grownups to fill the day with refrains of exploration. Visit musiconmain.ca for tickets and more BIG BANG Festival details.
