Black Box Theatre Co. is presenting James Barclay’s WONDERWALL from April 16 to May 2 at The NEST on Granville Island.
The heartfelt comedy from local playwright-actor-director Barclay, WONDERWALL had its well-received World Premiere this winter in North Vancouver. For this second run, Black Box Theatre Co. co-founders James Barclay and Artistic Director Tracy Labrosse bring the production to The Nest.
Blending laughter with tears in an uplifting way, WONDERWALL tells the story of Charlotte, a sharp-witted teen on the verge of losing her home who teams up with her quirky middle-aged neighbour for a lawn-mowing hustle. As their unlikely partnership and business scheme turns to friendship their struggling families are drawn together. Through humour, compassion and honesty the piece finds its heart in the story about care, connection, and finding family in the most surprising places.
The cast includes Marta Bilous as ‘Charlotte’, Omer Aubin as ‘Scott’, Carrie Hunter as ‘Anne’ with James Barclay appearing as ‘Peter’ in addition to being playwright and producer, while Tracy Labrosse is directing and playing ‘Tina’.
WONDERWALL plays Wednesday through Sunday, April 16 – May 2, 2026 at The NEST, Granville Island, 3rd Floor, 1398 Cartwright Street.
