A little over a decade ago, Malte Kluetz had a dream to bring the traditional German Christmas market experience he grew up with to Vancouver, this year the CEO & Founder proudly celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Vancouver Christmas Market.

Now a local tradition, the Vancouver Christmas Market continues to expand its offerings year over year. Outgrowing its original location at Queen Elizabeth Theatre, moving to the larger 70,000 square ft Jack Poole Plaza in 2016 which is now filled with 80+ vendors offering; traditional Christmas ornaments & cards, handmade crafts, clothing, wellness products, and much more.
Foodies are far from forgotten at the Vancouver Christmas Market as the stalls offer all sorts of tantalizing tastes; Beef & Vegan Gulasch, Langosh (flatbread with savoury toppings), Wild Mushroom Soup, Bratwurst and Weisswurst, Raclette (Melted cheese scraped from a wheel), Turkey, Pretzels, Schweinshaxe (roasted pork shank), Perogies, Spätzle (egg noodle), Chimney Cakes, Macarons and so much more. Wash it all down with sip by visiting Bavarian Beer Haus, or the wine, cider and distillers stalls. Visit Canada’s first-ever Christmas Pyramid, look up to listen to catch The Gingerbread Men singing carols while down below pick up a mug of German Glühwein.
Visit with family of all ages and everyone will find something for them at the Market. Kids can take a turn on the Christmas Carousel or create something in the Kinder Kraft Igloo, while mom & dads will enjoy Date Night by taking a stroll along Lover’s Lane, before booking a table at Wunderbar – a festive adult-only cocktail bar tucked away from the hustle and bustle.
