The Tenors – December 3, 2019 – Queen Elizabeth Theatre
For the third stop on their latest tour, The Wonder of Christmas, The Tenors made a stop at Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
The Tenors’ Christmas Tours have become a favourite holiday tradition for many, and this turn on the Queen E stage didn’t disappoint, as the trio filled the hall with Christmas spirit. The full house, of all ages, was treated to a beautiful blend of contemporary and traditional holiday classics, with a handful of originals, and fan favourites like their hugely popular rendition of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah thrown in for added cheer. As they do most years, The Tenors welcomed local choirs to join them onstage, this year David Brankin Elementary Choir and University of BC University Singers lent their voices to the concert. Another singing partner was also a major highlight of the show. The Canadian singers have participated in a tribute album, Bing At Christmas with the London Symphony Orchestra. Joined onstage by a video montage, they sang their duet with the vocals of Bing Crosby, on The Christmas Song, for an amazing moment that showed The Tenors could hold their own with “Mr Christmas, Bing Crosby”.
With Vancouver being a hometown stop for Fraser Walters, and Clifton Murray, (third member Victor Micallef, is from Toronto), the energy in the auditorium has an extra special feeling with many friends and family present. This year had added family spirit as Clifton became a first time father in June, and Fraser welcomed a second daughter in August. Both of the births were featured in The Tenors 2019 highlight reel played later in the show, giving the fans a bit of a glimpse behind the scenes and into what we missed while the group is on tour.
The Tenors continue the 2019 Wonder of Christmas Tour across Canada and into the US border states up to Christmas. Upcoming dates are:
