Prepare for a weekend of great music, from Nov 3-6, 2023, Music on Main presents the 2023 Modulus Festival with an inspiring and invigorating line-up of live performances at various venues around Vancouver.
Now in its 12th year, the Modulus Festival is no stranger to show-stopping line-ups filled with the kind of musical originality that inspires thought-provoking memorable conversations. Audiences will experience unforgettable performances brimming with experimental and adventurous sounds.
Highlights include a concert of music by Julius Eastman performed by the Music on Main All-Star Band and the Vancouver Youth Choir, world premieres by Nancy Tam, Dorothy Chang and Giorgio Magnanensi performed by Standing Wave Ensemble, and a brand-new collaboration from Eve Egoyan and Mauricio Pauly.
Enter an evocative sound-world, as London-based pianist, composer, and technologist Zubin Kanga presents SHOW(ti)ME, an electrifying and unforgettable piano performance. Experience a night of energetic musical discovery when improvising chamber jazz ensemble and Vancouver-based collective SICK BOSS inspire audiences at the Friday late night concert. Take in a don’t miss sounds of For Dreams: The Music of Jennifer Butler, celebrating the artists’ latest album release.
