The 2nd Annual Art Out Side Festival is set to transform Port Moody with an array of immersive multidisciplinary exhibitions. From August 7-16, visits can explore outdoor installations, live art activations, and artist-led initiatives in everyday spaces all across the city.

Art Out Side is curated by the Port Moody Arts and Visitor Centre (PoMoArts), a not-for-profit community-based arts organization that creates art experiences to engage, challenge, and awaken opportunities for connection. The 2026 program invites audiences to experience art in motion beyond traditional gallery walls, with creative work embedded into familiar cityscapes and natural landscapes.
“We designed this festival to make art approachable and integrated into daily life,” says Deanna Kayne, Executive Director at PoMoArts. “This isn’t just about watching art happen, it’s about experiencing it as part of your community.”
“In a time of relentless digital noise, where algorithms shape attention, and speed often replaces depth. Authentic shared experience feels increasingly rare, and meaningful human connection can be difficult to sustain. In this context, artists have a powerful role to play,” adds Cristiana Ripeanu, Art Out Side Festival Manager.

Representing a comprehensive range of artistic mediums and perspectives, united by a shared focus on connection, accessibility, and the role of art in shaping public spaces. The 2026 Art Out Side brings together a diverse roster of 43 local artists and collectives from across the Lower Mainland, including 13 musical acts, 8 visual arts projects, 5 performance works, 4 installations, 3 dance pieces, and more.
“Experimentation is vital for artists, and Art Out Side is an opportunity to test new concepts and connect directly with audiences in unconventional ways,” Deanna Kayne adds. “This supports a vibrant, innovative, and reflective cultural ecosystem, while animating our city and strengthening our social fabric.”
The 2nd Art Out Side Festival runs August 7-16, 2026 throughout Port Moody. For artists bios, details on installation locations, programming schedules, and secret locations visit pomoarts.ca/artoutside.
