The 39th annual Mission Folk Music Festival once again brings a superb lineup of local, Canadian and international music artists and groups to beautiful Fraser River Heritage Park from July 24 to 26.

Over 25 acts will perform at 4 daytime stages and on the evening Main Stage in the park, a shaded and pastoral regional park overlooking the Fraser River, located just east of the city of Mission, BC. The Heritage Park will be filled with music and entertainment for everyone, a mix of the familiar along with lesser-known sounds and new genres to pique the audience’s ear. Hear everything from indie folk from a number of singular voices to dance-inducing brass bands and Celtic tunes, Ukraine soul to Old Time bluegrass, spine-tingling harmonies to traditional Paiwan melodies, Métis fiddle, blues, soul and so much more!

MFMF’s Artistic Director, Michelle Demers Shaevitz, says “It all starts with remarkable musicians. It’s their brilliant music and fascinating stories that draws us in. They are the heart of the Mission Folk Music Festival – and why our audience continues to grow.
For me, when I think about this festival, it’s about finding compelling songwriters and musicians whose artistry captures the beauty and chaos of the world around us. And then they gift it to us. There’s a lot of musical variety, perspectives, creativity in the groups and artists in our program – and each brings us something special to learn, appreciate and truly enjoy.
This year, I was particularly drawn to artists who don’t just perform their tradition – they embody it. These are musicians who wear their cultural inheritances with pride, question them with curiosity, and carry them forward. Their work is rooted in lineage and story, yet unmistakably contemporary – where folk meets punk, protest songs meet traditional tunes. I invite you to join us to hear what they have to sing, to play and to say.
Come enjoy a summer weekend in the park. Discover a new favourite band from the shade of a tree. Sip a drink with friends under the stars — and take it all in.”
With activities for young and old, hands-on workshops, music jams, dances, song circles, audience participation is welcomed and encouraged throughout the weekend. As well, MFMF welcomes the 9th edition of the wildly popular Festival Choir – where audience members can rehearse with and then perform with selected festival artists on Sunday night’s Main Stage.

To fill hearts, souls, and stomachs, an Artisan Market highlights local vendors and makers, a Food Court and a licensed, shaded Beer Garden keep patrons satiated. Add-on paid on-site camping to a Weekend pass to make the most out of the beautiful setting and sounds of the festival.
