The Cultch has recently released the line-up for their 2020 Fall Season. With the Spring Season interrupted with an early closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic precautions, The Cultch spent the last few months examining its place in the community to come up with a reimagined season to support its artists and entertain its audiences.
“These past five months have been a true rollercoaster,” says Executive Director Heather Redfern. “Who knew so much could change in such a short time? I’m immensely proud of, and grateful for, every person who has been on this journey, and the way we have to risen to the challenge of what has been a series of very difficult experiences. The fact that we are able to do a fall season is a miracle. And the fact that we have been able to pivot as an organization so quickly to do so is a double miracle. We’re so proud to be able to honour these artists and, most of all, share their extraordinary work with our community.”
This Fall, The Cultch brings music, local artists, and more! The season includes a musical memoire from Pandemic Artist-in-Residence Veda Hille, old and new Vancouver theatre hits, a new take on your favourite holiday tradition, and the season starts with an evolution of the TRANSFORM Cabaret Festival. Audiences will be able to enjoy unique, diverse performance from the comfort and safety of their own homes.
The Cultch is introducing new ways to subscribe and support The Cultch with Subscription Boxes. Subscription Boxes (patrons will be able to choose from a Solo Party or Bubble Box Subscription) will bring audiences an exclusive, curated mix of everything they love about The Cultch—plus even more goodies to enjoy from local artists, international stages, and community partners.
Safety is the organization’s top priority so The Cultch is developing maximum flexibility in programming—sharing live performance either digitally, in-person, or both, while keeping patrons, artists, and staff safe. The Cultch plans to explore how to safely bring in small audiences, with those details will be announced closer to each show date in order to follow the most up-to-date safety standards.
