Bless Us Everyone! A Wonderheads Christmas Carol brings its whimsical storytelling to the Arts Club Theatre Company’s Olympic Village Stage until December 14th. The Victoria-based full-mask physical theatre company performs wordlessly but their stories are richly told through the skilled physicality of the performers.

Performed live by just four players, Kate Braidwood as Ebenezer Scrooge, Emily Case as Marley, Tiny Tim, The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, Pedro M. Almeida-Siqueira as Cratchit, Fezziwig, The Ghost of Christmas Present and Chelsea MacEwan as Mrs. Cratchit, Mrs. Fezziwig, The Ghost of Christmas Past, with the latter trio also playing townspeople, various visual effects and switching set pieces on the fly. Some characters are full-size or full-bodies puppets, like Tiny Tim or the Ghost of Christmas Present but so skilled are they, that you don’t notice the person behind or inside the puppet.
With the Dickens tale so familiar, the audience can easily follow along as Wonderheads bring new life to the 180 year old classic. Supported by creative projections and illustrations from T. Erin Gruber and lighting by Hina Nishioka with contemporary music from The Singer and the Songwriter (Rachel Garcia and Thu Tran) bringing a light atmosphere surrounding the Victorian ghost story. The intimate surroundings of the Olympic Village stage are perfect for A Wonderheads Christmas Carol to feel as though it’s been drawn from a child’s imagination whilst being read the story for the first time.

Let A Wonderheads Christmas Carol take you on a joyous, whimsical, and utterly enjoyable story of redemption and hope, only until December 14, 2025 at the Arts Club Theatre Company Olympic Village Stage at the BMO Theatre Centre, 162 West 1st Avenue, Vancouver.
