Web Summit, known as ‘the world’s premier tech conference’, is launching a new North American flagship event in Vancouver, May 27-30 at Vancouver Convention Centre, West. Evolving from the former Collision Conference in Toronto, the first Web Summit Vancouver event marks a new chapter for the Dublin-based company as it expands its global lineup of other conferences in Lisbon, Rio de Janeiro, Doha and Hong Kong .

Founded in Dublin in 2009, Web Summit has grown immensely from its first 150-person tech conference in October of that year. Since inception the conferences have brought together over a million businesspeople from around the world. Web Summit Vancouver will welcome up to 15,000 attendees from over 120 countries, all coming to make meaningful connections with the next generation of world-shaping entrepreneurs.
Discussing topics including Tariffs and International Trade, AI, Gaming, Entertainment, Social Media, Venture Capital and Investment, the inaugural event will feature more than 250 speakers. Speakers include Bluesky CEO Jay Graber, Activision Blizzard CMO Tyler Bahl, Bell Canada CEO Mirko Bibic, Vancouver Mayor and co-founder of Nurse Next Door & Rosemary Rocksalt Ken Sim, 2024 U.S. presidential candidate Dr. Cornel West, IKEA Chief Digital Officer Parag Parekh, Chief Tournament Officer, Canada, for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Peter Montopoli, Province of British Columbia Minister of Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation Diana Gibson and many more.
More than 1,000 startups from over 62 countries and 32 industries will be showcasing their new technologies on the exhibition floor to more than 600 investors from funds like TELUS Global Ventures, Deloitte Ventures, Race Capital, Khosla Ventures, 500 Global, and Initialized Capital, as well as 120 partners from some of the largest technology companies like Microsoft, Dell, Figma, Mastercard and Asana. A record-breaking 50 trade delegations from countries like South Korea, Austria, Turkiyë, Ukraine, Colombia, Costa Rica, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, and Nigeria to explore expanding international trade links amid US trade tariffs.
Web Summit isn’t just all talk and no fun, the three-day event also includes Night Summit – a chance for the attendees to explore Vancouver’s culture with nightly themed hubs at Bentall Centre, Helmcken Plaza in Yaletown and The Shipyards in North Vancouver. To keep folks satiated, Food Summit brings a selection of Food Trucks to the Vancouver Centre from 11am – 4pm.
