Last year, Edible Canada at the Market hosted their inaugural Festival Under the Bridge, themed Street Eats & Beats. Over 1,500 Vancouverites packed this unique outdoor shindig, celebrating local talent and the city’s hottest food trucks. This year’s theme, Edible Canada House, takes its inspiration from the 2014 Sochi Winter Games to bring the Olympic Spirit back to Vancouver.
Part of Granville Island’s Winterruption Festival, running February 14–16, Edible Canada House will feature live music (including both DJs and bands), giant projection screens provided by Preston Mobility, will broadcast live and pre-recorded Olympic to allow guests to party the night away while cheering on the nation’s top athletes.
Savoury Chef will be hosting multiple food stations showcasing classic Canadian fare such as bison chili, Alberta beef brisket & maple flapjacks to name a few — perfect late night snacks! There will also be other comfort food items provided by Edible Canada, such as cheesy perogies. Granville Island Brewing will be supplying the craft beer and many other local wines and spirits will be flowing over the course of the weekend, including Edible’s famous “Garnish Your Own” Caesar bar.
“It’s going to be one huge party!” says Eric Pateman, Edible Canada Founder and CEO. “We have been planning our second Festival Under the Bridge since the incredible success of last year’s Street Eats & Beats. The Sochi Olympics is the perfect excuse for a bash. We’re inviting the whole city down to cheer on our Olympic hopefuls and relive the party that was 2010!”
