Rise and shine! It’s time to make noise as Hot Brown Honey has returned to The Cultch York Theatre with The Remix.

The boisterous band of Global First Nations women have come back to Vancouver for the first time since 2019, bringing with them their celebration of each other, women of colour, feminism, Mother Earth and more. Just as the world has changed over the last years, Hot Brown Honey’s show and line up has also changed, leading us to The Remix.
Still lead by Director & Co-Writer Lisa Fa’alafi ‘The Game Changer’ and Co-Writer/Musical Director Kim ‘Busty Beatz – The Queen Bee’ Bowers, The Honeys include Hope Haami ‘Hope One The Beatboxer’, Ghenoa Gela ‘The Ground Breaker’, Alinta McGrady “The Waver Maker’, Lilikoi Kaos “The Wave Maker’, and Mayu Muto ‘The Gravity Defier’.

Bringing in new blood, allows Hot Brown Honey to introduce new segments to the production to highlight their talents and skills. Part hip-hop concert, burlesque, circus, theatre, comedy and political commentary, the show stimulated all the senses. I defy anyone in the audience to not find themselves inspired, motivated and grinning from ear to ear as they cheer on this talented troupe.
When a production provides ear plugs at the front entrance, it hints to the audience that something spectacular lay ahead. Filled with bold colour and lights, game-changing dynamic dance by Lisa Fa’alafi, emotional circus-style high rope with Mayu Muto, and hilarious hula hoop with cultural commentary with Lilikoi Kaos work with banging beats by Busty Beatz, and Hope One’s world-class beatboxing, Hot Brown Honey is one of a kind.
Hot Brown Honey, presented by Quiet Riot (Australia) plays at The Cultch York Theatre until October 8th. For more information on the show and team visit thecultch.com
