A quick weekend getaways is made easy when you can just throw your gear in the car and hit the road. We were able to do just that when we had the opportunity to drive the Acura RDX for a recent trip to the Comox Valley. The luxury SUV had plenty of room for us to pack more than we needed and just take off.
The Acura RDX cargo hold isn’t the only roomy part of the vehicle, passengers and driver feel the space all around, allowing for a comfortable, relaxed road trip. Even those the RDX feels big, it’s compact size makes parking easy, and since we were taking a trip on BC Ferries, it still fit in with the smaller car decks, not trucks. Heading up the Inland Highway for a late night drive to Comox was nice and easy too, the smooth drive and comfortable seating kept us fresh even through the dark. The fresh air and light from the sunroof was nice when city driving, but the closed cabin was quiet except for the great audio system with Sirius Satellite radio, when on the open highway. With the windows up for the return drive on a hot afternoon was kept cool by the individual climate controls for each of us.
On top of all the luxurious cabin comforts, a slew of safety features like active braking, all-wheel drive and enhanced traction control, multi-angle cameras, and Acura Compatibility Engineering structural enhancements, give drivers an added sense of comfort. Overall, the Acura RDX is a great mid-size luxury SUV, and for around $45,000 a good value in its field.
