Chocolate: Some like it hot! Celebrate Hot Chocolate with cafes and restaurants pouring decadent drinks until February 14th
Cave: The Cultch presents J Mar Electric’s The Cave, online January 22 – 24, part forest dwelling, part nightclub, join a group of animals fleeing from a vicious forest fire who seek refuge in Bear’s cave.
Films: Turning Point Ensemble (TPE) is launching 1+1+1+ : a film project with the first three films launching on Saturday, January 23 with an online viewing party at 5pm.
Gallery: Until March 20th, Burrard Arts Foundation(BAF) features three new art exhibitions at the non-profit gallery: muralist, textile artist and illustrator Sandeep Johal, photographer and new media artist Annie Briard plus a new work from Josephine Lee.
Digital: The Arts Club Digital Edition is filled with online viewing of behind the scenes content, workshops and Live From Home videos. As well, buy access to the Arts Clubs two streaming productions: Buffoon and Twelve Dates of Christmas.
Poetry: Until January 31, at the new GALLERY GEORGE, ParkerArtSalon is hosting a the Poetry Project a collaborative Exhibition and Book Launch between Beedie Luminaries and ParkerArtSalon, benefitting the BC Women’s Health Foundation.
Orchestra: theconcerthall.ca is Vancouver Symphony Orchestra‘s digital home for the season, this month works of Mozart make their digital debut alongside the other still streaming productions from throughout the season, including free to watch holidays features.
Museum: Visit MOV at Vanier Park or the Chinatown location for A Seat at the Table a collaborative exhibition exploring historical and contemporary stories of Chinese Canadians in BC and their struggles for belonging.
Bridge: Capilano Suspension Bridge Park‘s Canyon Lights is cancelled but the Park is open for visits during the daytime from 11am to 6pm, booking timed entry is required.
Garden: Van Dusen Botanical Gardens has also had to cancel Festival of Lights but the gardens can still be enjoyed during the daylight hours, 10am – 2pm, with timed entry booking.
Dome: Step into the tropical warmth of Bloedel Conservatory and take in the 120 free-flying exotic birds, hundreds of exotic plants and flowers. Open 10am – 3:45pm with timed entry.
Moon: Join the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre on January 9 & 10 for daytime family learning session about Moons, and other natural satellites. Register for up to 4 people to have a 60 minute visit of the Cosmic Courtyard Gallery and tour the Observatory.
