Coming soon, Vancouver Civic Theatres (VCT) welcomes the 2025/26 Season of their National Geographic Live Speaker Series to the intimate Vancouver Playhouse stage. Beginning October 15th, VCT presents National Geographic Live bringing world-renowned Explorers from the field to your city, to share their expertise on a topic of interest.

October 15, 2025:
VCT Presents National Geographic Live: From Roots to Canopy with Ecologist Nalini Nadkarni
From Roots to Canopy features award-winning ecologist and National Geographic Explorer Nalini Nadkarni. Trees have provided food, protection, and wonder for humans throughout history. Live on stage, Nadkarni will take audiences on assignment in Costa Rica, where they’ll climb into the clouds and dangle from the branches. Through striking photography and captivating video, experience the magnificent wildlife and incredible science that is happening in the vast, hidden worlds suspended over head.
February 12, 2026:
VCT Presents National Geographic Live: Cosmic Adventures with Aerospace Engineer Tracy Drain
Cosmic Adventures welcomes Aerospace Engineer and National Geographic Explorer Tracy Drain to the Vancouver Playhouse stage. Drain works at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory to develop, test, and operate the complex machines that uncover some of the countless mysteries within (and way beyond!) our solar system. Live on stage, Drain will tell of an unforgettable journey through her projects: rovers on Mars, a mission to Jupiter, and a hunt for exoplanets that reshaped our entire understanding of the galaxy.

VCT Presents National Geographic Live: Untangling the Mind with Neuroscientist Steve Ramirez
Untangling the Mind with Neuroscientist and National Geographic Explorer Steve Ramirez. The human brain is an electrical web of 100 trillion connections that has made everything possible, from campfires to lunar landers. Live on stage, Ramirez will guide the audience into in his lab to witness brains in action using striking photography and captivating video, starting with a common research partner: mice. Explore the foundations of human thoughts, emotions, and memories to see what really makes us, us.
