The next Vancouver Foodster Challenge gets underway on Wednesday. The 2016 Rice Bowl Challenge gets underway on Wednesday, March 3rd and runs until March 27, 2016.
A batch of restaurants from around Metro Vancouver are preparing a rice bowl to wow the public and judges during the run of the Challenge. Chefs have been advised their Rice Bowl creations can be currently on their menus or a brand new dish devised just for this challenge. The Rice Bowls can be simple or fancy, the Chefs are encouraged to use unique and innovative ingredients, flavours and spices that reflect their restaurants’ culture. The bowl can combine any meats or other proteins with grains, vegetables and sauces.
The public is invited to visit the participating restaurants and try the Rice Bowl creations, then vote for their favourite for People’s Choice winner.
A panel of judges will also be visiting the restaurants to choose their favourites. Joyce Lam of vanfoodies.com, Mary Sheridan of Vancouver Bits & Bites and myself will be making our way around the Vancouver Foodster Rice Bowl Challenge. Follow us on social media by watching #RiceBowlChallengeYVR
