Western Gold Theatre puts some spring in its step with the upcoming On Our Feet (OOF!) Stage Reading Series and spring Mainstage production.

One of only two professional theatre companies in Canada solely devoted to centring the voices and stories of seniors and Elders (55+), Western Gold Theatre OOF! Series offers four performances with all the hallmarks of a full production: intricate blocking, designed sets, costumes, and music. The only difference is that the actors carry their scripts. The cast meets on Tuesday and open Friday, after just 30 hours of rehearsal.
Directed by Vancouver theatre legend, Bernard Cuffling, the Stage Reading Series offers a double-bill of classic farce themed on Love, Sex & Marriage – The Marriage Proposal and Overruled take place at the PAL Studio Theatre, March 14 – 16.
THE MARRIAGE PROPOSAL

Also known as “The Proposal”, this classic, fast-paced, and farcical screwball comedy is all about the “business” of love. This dialogue-based, one-act play was written in 1888-1889 and first performed in 1890.
OVERRULED
By George Bernard Shaw
Mr. Lunn and Mrs. Juno have fallen in love. So, as it happens, have their respective spouses—with each other! Two couples are swingin’ at an English seaside hotel in Shaw’s zany, humorous, and thought-provoking exploration of marriage, polyamory, and fidelity.
