The stars shone brightly in LA on Sunday as the music industry gathered for its biggest night, The Grammy Awards. Kicked off by a rare live performance by Beyonce and Jay Z and hosted by LL Cool J, the night was highlighted by more than 20 performances featuring some once in a lifetime collaborations. The night featured performance by Robin Thicke with Chicago, Sara Bareilles with Carole King, Billy Joe Armstrong and Miranda Lambert, Metallica featuring Lang Lang, Kendrick Lemar and Imagine Dragons, Mackelmore & Ryan Lewis with Madonna & Queen Latifah presiding over 33 couples exchanging their wedding vows. Julia Roberts paid mention to the upcoming Grammys’ tribute to the 50th Anniversary of The Beatles first performance on the Ed Sullivan Show then introduced a performance by Paul McCartney with Ringo Starr.
While the music takes centre stage there are still awards to be presented. Going into the night Jay Z led the night with nine nominations and in the end, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Daft Punk and Pharrell Williams walked away with the most wins.
