BC Place will be filled with excitement for 2024 as, just in time to be added to Christmas wishlists, both the BC Lions and Vancouver Whitecaps have announced their special anniversary season schedules.
Vancouver Whitecaps 50th anniversary season, start things off with their MLS home opener, hosting Charlotte FC on March 2, 2024. Cascadia Cup rivals Portland Timbers visit the first time March 30th, as well as September 28th, with Seattle Sounders visiting just once on October 2nd. Although Vancouver is the reigning Canadian Champions, hometown fans will only get to see the Whitecaps defend for the Voyageurs Cup once, when Toronto FC visits April 6th. A much anticipated draw comes to the BC Place pitch when Inter Miami CF and (hopefully) superstar Lionel Messi, make their first visit to Vancouver on May 25th. Vancouver gets another chance against last-season’s playoff rivals LA FC on August 24. The MLS regular home season comes to a close with Minnesota visiting October 5th, with Vancouver wrapping up the season at Salt Lake City on October 19th.
Whitecaps FC Season Memberships are on sale or renewable now, with single tickets to be announced soon.
In other play, Whitecaps FC begin their 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup campaign with a pair of matches against Club de Fútbol Tigres de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (Tigres UANL), playing their home match at Starlight Stadium in Victoria, BC on February 7, 2024
BC Lions’ 70th CFL Season gets under way in Toronto on Sunday June 9th, then return to the Save-On-Foods Field at BC Place on Saturday June 15th, against Calgary Stampeders (also visiting October 4th). The home opener is the first of five 4pm weekend home starts, making games more accessible to fans from around the province. For the first time since 2019, BC Lions will host and visit every CFL club as the league returns to a balanced schedule.
