Vancouver’s newest summer festival kicks off tomorrow, EPIC: Sustainable Living Festival, run Saturday July 6th and Sunday July 7th at VanDusen Botanical Garden. An offspring of the long-running EPIC sustainable lifestyle showcase, EPIC the festival is combining local live entertainment, BC grown food and beverages and an eco-friendly marketplace into one summer extravaganza.
With its new location the EPIC lineup will this year welcome new entertainment and exhibits such as Food Truck Alley, which promises to be the largest gathering of food trucks in Vancouver’s history. Featuring 19 trucks serving everything from donuts and ice cream to grilled cheese and lamb burgers, Food Truck Alley is the perfect place to taste some of Vancouver’s best street cuisine.
Also new this year is the outdoor concert stage with non-stop live entertainment from open to close. With performances by BC entertainers Kuba Oms and the Paperboys, local up-and-comers includelast year’s Peak Performance finalists Jordan Klassen, Dominique Fricot, Steph MacPherson and many more playing under the sun.
EPIC will continue its tradition of quenching the thirst of visitors with some of the best beverages from amazing local breweries, adding to it this year, by introducing the Sip & Savour Garden which will play host to exhibitors offering local craft-made beers, amazing wines from around the province and distilled spirits made right here in British Columbia.
As always the mainstay of EPIC is the Sustainable Living Marketplace, which highlights the link between the economy, the environment and the community.
