Light: Gateway Theatre in Richmond introduces a new and memorable way of celebrating Lunar New Year with Into the Light running February 18 – 20 is an all-ages, immersive, walk-through experience.
Lunar: Lunar Fest 2022 wraps up February 21st, but lanterns are still glowing as celebrations taking place around the city as well as virtual programs, featuring lanterns, entertainment, exhibits, crafts, markets, and many other event spread around the lower mainland.
Sea: The Cultch Historic Theatre features Alanna Mitchell’s critically acclaimed production Sea Sick, about climate change and the state of our oceans, part of The Cultch’s fifth annual Femme Festival
Chapel: It’s the last chance to view Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition with its 34 larger than life frescoes from the Vatican ceiling at Vancouver Convention Centre East Building until February 20th
Matriarchs: There’s a few more days to catch Olivia C. Davies, Artistic Director of O.Dela Arts, in partnership with The Dance Centre, presents the fourth edition of Matriarchs Uprising, a celebration of contemporary dance by female Indigenous artists, offers performances, master classes, workshops and circle conversations throughout the festival.
Festival: Continuing until February 27, 2022, VMF Winter Arts transforms the city’s downtown core into a free, interactive, open-air gallery and celebration of art and live entertainment
Stars: Constellations, a play by Nick Payne – a HUB Happening; emerging works presented by PHT Creative Hub members live in-person or online, continues until February 20 at Presentation House.
Folio: Witness a piece of history as Vancouver Art Gallery’s For All Time: The Shakespeare FIRST FOLIO celebrates the University of British Columbia Library’s recent acquisition of a complete first edition of William Shakespeare’s Comedies, Histories and Tragedies, on display until March 20th.
Maritime: The Vancouver Maritime Museum has a host of activities for Family Day Weekend; Printmaking for Kids, virtual Sailor Skills, and Free Admission on Monday. Plus its annual raffle is underway, get tickets to win an amazing Adventure Canada expedition worth $28,000!
Dance: Online today, until March 6th, DanceHouse, in partnership with Digidance, welcomes audiences to view the North American premiere of the digital broadcast of South African dance company Via Katlehong and contemporary choreographer Gregory Maqoma’s Via Kanana
Noises: Until February 27, the Massey Theatre brings the Arts Club Theatre Company’s hit production of the fan favourite farce Noises Off, by Michael Frayn to its stage in New Westminster
Arts: Until March 19, 2022, Burrard Arts Foundation presents a pair of exhibitions;
The Golden Section by Karin Jones features geometric arrangements made from human hair extensions that Jones purchased from a local beauty supply shop.
Sanda Rd Key Dhund by Sara Khan its Urdu title translating to Mists of Sanda Rd, referring to an area of Lehore, Pakistan, where the artist resided before moving to Vancouver in 2014.
Exhibition: Until April 3, the Richmond Art Gallery (RAG) is presenting a new exhibition, NOURISH, by curator Nan Capogna. Featuring American poet and writer Jane Wong and Vancouver-based artist duo Mizzonk (Wan-Yi Lin and Roger Chen).

Canoe: In the Vancouver Maritime Museum’s featured exhibition, on until July 3, 2022, Canoe Cultures :: Ho’-ku-melh War Canoes and the Gifts They Carry Forward, Indigenous artists and knowledge holders share their gifts through the war canoe in this multi-sensory journey.
Skate: Catch the action of Boarder X at MOV, a travelling exhibition, featuring work by contemporary artists from Indigenous nations across Canada, drawing parallels to urban areas prohibiting skateboarding, related to the landscapes and territories we occupy, on view until October 2022
