The Vancouver Art Gallery is less than one week away from its 2021 Art Auction | Spring Forward, taking place online June 1 to June 15, 2021. One of the Gallery’s most significant fundraisers, the Art Auction will feature outstanding artworks by renowned local and international artists. Proceeds from the auction go towards supporting the Gallery’s exhibition, education, and public programs.
The online auction is being hosted by Heffel Fine Art Auction House and through the generosity of local, national, and international artists, private collectors, and commercial galleries, 32 outstanding artworks have been donated to this event. Comprising a range of paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, sculptures, and media works, the Vancouver Art Gallery Art Auction 2021 | Spring Forward offers art enthusiasts the opportunity to actively support the Vancouver Art Gallery in achieving its mission—with the added advantage of gaining a piece of stellar artwork. The auction will feature works by Vikky Alexander, Dana Claxton, Landon Mackenzie, Cindy Sherman, Michael Lin, Howie Tsui, Jan Wade, and more. “We are grateful for the ongoing support of our communities during these very challenging times. Making art a part of our everyday lives offers a means to emerge from this crisis with creativity, hope, and purpose, shares Anthony Kiendl, Vancouver Art Gallery CEO and Gallery Director. “Participating in this crucial initiative expresses that optimism, and underscores art’s ability to make the world a better place. We encourage audiences to visit the Gallery and enjoy these amazing works of art.”
The works up for bid will be presented at the Vancouver Art Gallery on the Fourth Floor and can be viewed in-person, with the purchase of admission during regular Gallery hours from May 28 until June 15,
