As signs point to the end of the pandemic nearing, Tasting Plates is making a return to explore the city’s neighbourhoods! After a 1-1/2 year absence due to the Covid pandemic, Tasting Plates Neighbourhood tours as well as some of our specialty tours beginning later this summer in Vancouver.
After a year and a half of suffering under the weight of COVID-19 restrictions and closures, the restaurant industry suffered immensely resulting in a great change to our neighbourhood culinary scene. The return of Tasting Plates will give much needed support to the restaurants, allowing them to introduce patrons to what’s new in the ‘hood and on their menus. Everyone participating will be doing their part in helping return Vancouver’s vibrant restaurant scene.
The first Tasting Plates West End is coming back September 8th, 6pm to 10pm. Ultra Early-Bird Tickets on sale now.
Participating establishments so far for the West End include;
Davie Dosa Company: 1235 Davie Street
J&G Fried Chicken: 1706 Robson Street
Café Portrait: 1120 Denman Street
Bella Gelateria: 1752 Davie Street
As with all Tasting Plates, each restaurant will still be serving up Tasting Plates and Tasting Cups for guests to enjoy with a chance to visit different types of restaurants and food establishments throughout the event and learn about each of the participating places
However, some modifications are being made to ensure the tasting tours are safe and simple for everyone participating.
- Ticket purchases must be accompanied by phone numbers, addresses and email addresses to ensure attendees can be contacted with updates.
- There will no longer be a central registration location or associated check-in lines. Each guest will be assigned a first location to start and register for the tour, also enabling Tasting Plates to allocate an even number of people in each of the restaurant locations.
- All ticket holders will receive an email with a link to the map of participating restaurant/establishment locations along with the specific event details approx. 4 days prior to the event dates.
- Pricing tiers have changed to: 1) Ultra Early-Bird 2) Early-Bird and 3) Regular
