Vancouver Foodster has one again created a Food Challenge to test the creative skills of Vancouver’s chefs while giving patrons some tasty comfort food to get us through the early cool days of spring.
The 1st Mac & Cheese Challenge is underway until April 10th, featuring 10 local restaurants showcasing Mac & Cheese dishes created especially for this challenge. Some of the restaurants have offered their own twists using different types of noodles, while others have added different types of ingredients and flavours, one of which used a local craft beer.
Patrons are invited to try the Mac and Cheese dishes at participating restaurants keeping in mind the challenge criteria – originality, creativity, uniqueness, traditional, non-traditional, price, value and most importantly taste. Using their smartphones or at home online, people can vote for their favourite dish, once a day until the promotion ends April 10, 2014.
In addition to the usual People’s Choice winner, this Challenge introduces a second winner voted on by a panel of four members of the food media:
