Magic: Until March 30th, New Westminster experiences the wonders of The Magic Festival to venues around historic downtown
Farce: There’s just a few more shows to catch the laughs as The Metro Theatre with First Impressions Theatre present Michael Frayn’s classic English farce “Noises Off” that looks behind the scenes at a the backstage dramatics and comedy of a theatre production going spectacularly off the rails.
Foodie: Wrapping up March 31st, the Vancouver Foodster Chower Challenge features restaurants around Vancouver like Chewie’s Oyster Bar, Lift Bar & Grill, Stanley’s Bar & Grill and Vancouver Aquarium inviting Judges (including me) and the Public to taste and vote for their favourite Chowder!
Country: Tonight, Rogers Arena welcomes country legend Tim McGraw’s Standing Room Only Tour with support from Carly Pearce and Restless Road.
Acapella: Only until March 29th, Rushed Productions presents the world premiere of Annahis Basmadjian’s comedy-musical Sigma Acapella, at the Jack and Darlene Poole Theatre, Arts Umbrella
Puck: Thursday night, Dallas Stars pay a visit to Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena, then on Sunday afternoon Anaheim Ducks pay a visit.
Kick: Saturday, rivals Portland Timbers come up the I-5 for a visit to BC Place to take on Whitecaps FC
Dim Sum: This weekend experience Fabulist Theatre’s World Premiere Workshop of Dim Sum Diaries: Second Helping running at The Nest on Granville Island March 27-30.
Dance: The Dance Centre’s popular Discover Dance! noon series returns March 28th, featuring Aché Brasil, an explosion of colour, energy and music that embodies the exuberant culture and rhythms of Brazil.
Velvet: Opening tonight, The Arts Club Theatre’s Red Velvet brings the true-story of the first Black actor to tread the boards as Shakespeare’s Othello to the Stanley Industrial Alliance stage until April 21st
Italy: The Arts Club’s Made in Italy, On Tour, is nearing the end of its road as this week it stops at The Port Theatre in Nanaimo (March 27), Sid Williams in Courtenay (March 28), Charles Bailey in Trail (March 30) before closing the tour at Shadbolt Centre in Burnaby (March 2)
Riot: Tomorrow, celebrate the opening of Velvet Terrorism: Pussy Riot’s Russia, a survey exhibition of the feminist art collective, at The Polygon Gallery running until June 2, 2024.
