As we turn the page into September, with back-to-school and season change upon us, we can rely on our arts & entertainment scene to deliver more great picks of this week.

Beach: Summer’s not over under the tents at Bard on the Beach 2025 with the comedy Much Ado About Nothing running until September 20 alongside the 80s-themed Two Gentlemen of Verona running until September 19 on the BMO Mainstage. While the hilarious The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised] [again] plays the Douglas Campbell Stage until September 20, alternating with The Dark Lady playing until September 19.
King: Broadway Across Canada is presenting the groundbreaking musical, Disney’s The Lion King at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre until September 14
Immersive: Now showing until October 8th, the fan-favourite, Legendary Iceland, takes flight at Flyover joining the repertoire with the all new Awaken Canada
Boheme: September 5th, Metro Theatre’s season gets underway with a co-presentation of Jonathan Larson’s RENT, the electrifying rock musical retelling of La Bohème set in the streets of 1990’s New York City. Produced in partnership with The Mary Cleaver Real Estate Group.
Ballpark: The Vancouver Canadians are in the midst of a home stand against the Everett Aquasox until Sunday with a Friday “Nooner at the Nat” and a Fireworks extravaganza on Saturday night
Fringe: The 41st Annual Vancouver Fringe Festival returns to Granville Island and Gastown, September 4 to 14, featuring 87 shows with more than 668 performances across 19 venues, with performers from Canada, the US, Mexico, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Japan, China, and Australia.

Key: Thursday, The Vogue Theatre welcomes Montreal’s TOPS to the stage for their Bury the Key Tour in support of the same-named album
Doll: The Arts Club Theatre Company’s 2025-2026 season opens with previews of the Canadian Premiere production of a new adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House written by playwright Amy Herzog, presented in partnership with Theatre Calgary, from September 4 to October 5
Business: Friday, laughter comes to The Vogue Theatre as Hannah Berner’s None Of My Business comedy tour makes a stop for two shows, at 6pm and 9pm
Market: Junction Public Market, continues until September 28th at Granville Square – 200 Granville Street with free admission to the unique shipping container marketplace, will feature rotating pop-ups, local artisans, food vendors, and a licensed patio.
Barbie: 90s reminiscing will be on point as Danish dance-pop group AQUA bring their unique sounds to the Orpheum Theatre on Friday September 5

Comedy: Alabama-bred and Nashville-based, comedian, actress, and content creator, Danae Hays; First Time Tour stops at the Vancouver Playhouse on Saturday evening.
Princess: Sunday evening, Marina leaves behind her diamonds to return to the stage with her Princess of Power Tour at The Orpheum
Cosmos: Until September 28, a line-up of acclaimed Canadian and international artists whose insightful observations of the cosmos are featured in a group exhibition, The Polygon Gallery’s Star Witnesses
Value: The Museum of Anthropology at UBC presents an exhibition of acclaimed contemporary artist Rebecca Belmore. VALUE: Rebecca Belmore at the Museum of Anthropology, on display until October 19, 2025.
Dome: The H.R. MacMillan Space Centre new venue The Dome, is a new state-of-the-art immersive experience presenting the legendary Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon 50th Anniversary Show, with visuals by creative director Aubrey Powell, until September 8th.
Nuxalk: Ongoing at MOA is the world premiere of Nuxalk Strong: Dancing Down the Eyelashes of the Sun, on display until January 5, 2026.
